How to read requirements

Common patterns across pathway partners

Different partners use different wording, but most pathway conditions repeat a few common themes.

Course completion level

Upper Intermediate, EAP / IELTS, FCE, or other specific MIT course outcomes may be required.

Grade threshold

Some institutions specify minimum B or B+ grades, often tied to IELTS equivalence.

Attendance

Several partners ask for 80% or above attendance as part of pathway evidence.

Recommendation letter

Some partners require support from MIT’s Academic Manager or Director of Studies.
